MG — Morris Garages — began in Oxford in the 1920s building sporty versions of Morris cars, and became famous for its open two-seater roadsters. The brand has been owned by China's SAIC Motor since 2007. MG Motor India began selling cars in 2019 with the Hector, built at its plant in Halol, Gujarat, and has been run as a joint venture with India's JSW Group, as JSW MG Motor India, since 2024.
